alun j.
Having watched the glorious weather all week .......out of the classroom windows, I'm hoping the forecast holds true for tomorrow.........with a calm day to take a novice out and catch a few bream. Today the wind seems much stronger than forecast, so hope it dies overnight. Does anyone know if the mackerel are starting to show inshore yet.....or not ? Looking more grim for the othe two days.....so Mon's plans look to be scuttled and attention will switch to the garden! Good luck to others also out tomorrow ........speak up on Ch. 6 ... , I'm only small at sea! Alun.

Mike Y
Saturday certainly looks the pick of the days. We will be out tomorrow from Weymouth. I just hope the bream are still showing. Tight lines everyone Mike
plaicemat
Good luck if you get out, Alun. We had good numbers of mackerel last Friday both to feathers and on our bream baits. Should be enough to keep a novice occupied. Terry.
Afishionado
As Alun noted..Today the wind seems much stronger than forecast, so hope it dies overnight. On the basis of the forcast we were up at Sparrows and down to the boat. However it was bluddy freezing and blowing a mini hoolie . Unabashed we headed out to go to a mark or two south of Swanage. Rounding Old Harry it was obvious that the forcast 6 to 8 mile an hour winds were a distant hope as we crashed through a lumpy wind over tide sea. Hopes of distant marks faded and we sought some comfort in Swanage bay. Heading in with the sonar being our guide we found an area of uneaven bottom with the 'fish below' warning pinging away like mad. Mark did a wonderful job letting the anchor go whilst rising and falling 6 ft or so on the bouncing fordeck and we settled down to fish......... Bloody brilliant!!! Bream several around 2lb fought like little tigers, LSD's of course, Thornbacks, and Mackerel. we went on catching steadily and finished up bathed in sunshine with a proper wind of only F4. All the fish went back 'sept the Mackies. The tide on both the flood and ebb was particularly fierce. The new boat was magnificent, it rode out a snotty sea with relative ease and with the door shut behind us a lot of comfort The ride was so soft, I was very impressed. Anchored the windbreak of the wheel house was a god send. Great day Loved it Mad Mike
