DommyBoy
Hi guys, any help would be gratefully received here as i have no idea whats wrong with it! The VHF on our boat is not working, we have full power to it, we can hear people on it, when i key up on it-the light comes on on the screen, but no-one can hear me. Paul D has had a look at it (cheers Paul) and we were hoping it was OK but unfortunately it is still not working, any ideas on what might be wrong with it? Paul D
Dom, I would suggest that the RF Power transistor might be fried. Probably was used when you had half an aerial ! You need to find some radio ham person on here with some radio test equipment otherwise will probably be cheaper to buy another one
Paul J
i've got a problem with mine recently. It's fine for about 15 mins but then the display goes out and all i get is squelch noise. Turn it off and on again and the cycle repeats. Ive checked the connections and all looks fine Any ideas? TA PJ
diverdave
Hi Guys, I would suggest you both check all power connections all the way back to the battery. Any high resistance is a potential problem. You can receive on next to no power. TX takes power. Please don't use either radios until you've resolved the problems CH16 has enough carriers already. Let me know, Regards Dave
that's_a_biggin
dom.. almost certain you blown the output tranny .. to confirm this you could try getting a hand held within a couple of meters of your radio .. you might hear very lowlevel audio befor it goes through the final output tranny if you give me the make and model i'll find a price to repair it .. but could easily be
