rich
This was the gist of a conversation between my wife Anita and myself just prior to my birthday. Anita: What would you like for your birthday? Rich: I would like a new fishing reel. Anita: You could really do with some new clothes. Rich : Yes, but I would really like a new reel. Anita: We'll see. Needless to say I got the clothes. Why do they bother to ask? If anyone has got a sensibly priced secondhand multiplier that would be OK for a novice to use for general fishing duties then have a chat with me at the next club meeting. Paul D
I tried along similar lines when it was Helen's birthday. Paul : What would you like for your birthday ? Helen : Nice pair of earings maybe Paul : You could really do with a fishing rod Helen : Yes but I would really like some earings Paul : We shall see Needless to say, she got the fishing rod. Who am I kidding - I value my life
great white
I bet you bought her the earings and the rod but I know who uses the rod When we decided to build the boat, I bought Wendy a new frying pan, but even though I wrapped up other "Nicer" presents and put them in the box inside the Pan. I was still thretened with the pan if I ever did it again. Rich It has taken years to get the message through to people that I really do like new fishing gear more than clothes so best of luck next year Charlie
