Sprinter
I like the idea of charging across the oggin with spray and horsepower being put to good use getting a nice boat up on the plane (like Sunday), but i also like the idea of sneaking up on some Bass and clubbing them as well all seems like fun to me Ye we went to the chain ferry as we thought we might get some respite from the wind (wrong) and i landed my first ever dog fish, think it was only a small one of 10 - 12" though so i admired it for a few secs then put the poor thing back. I had some rag spare so will freeze them up for some other occasion.
daz
is rag ok to freeze and reuse?? we always seem to fling a ton off them over board after fishing but if they freeze ok then ill be doing that?
Sprinter
Mark freezes them then uses them for ground bait, sounded like a good idea to me
jack
Andy and I used to throw away loads of Rag.But it seemed such a waste ,that I started taking them home and putting them in the freezer.I now take them on trips and use them to "pad out" our fresh worm on the hook.If all else fails you can chop them up and add them to the Groundbait...Whilst on holiday, I have kept Rag alive in the bottom of the fridge [the salad compartment is great ]for well over a week.I keep them in a box, seperated in 3s or 4s between layers of towelling that have been partially wrung out from salt water. What have you to lose?. P.S. in answer to my own rhetoricle question,Ask the wife FIRST ! jack
Phil V
Zed, I quite like the idea of giving Kayak fishing a try myself. There is a good thread in the forum of anglersnet.co.uk with local contributions. I'm going to pop down to Bournemouth canoes in Hamworthy to have a chat when I get back from working away next week. Just need to find someone willing to let me have a go before I seriously consider buying one. Phil
alun j.
Jack.......... Just get another 'fridge.......there are loads going for free; great for keeping bait, smelly things [like ripe cheeses] and a few spare beers! .....and in my case......a week's supply of fresh [but possibly dripping] caught fish!! Alun.

Mike Y
I bought a kayak earlier this year and have really enjoyed it. After much research I settled on a Malibu Mini-X - a very stable but short option and perhaps not best suited for long paddles but neither am I. I have had great success plugging for bass from the kayak and am really pleased with it. I am afraid I am off to the US on business tomorrow (with a striped bass trip in NYC and a salmon trip in Seattle thrown in) but I'd be happy to let anyone have a go when I am back. Mike PS Jimbob your probably saw one of the guys from the anglersafloat forum - they have really cracked the kayak fishing.

jack
Hi,Alun J.I already did just as you suggested {bought a neat little fridge freezer and put it in the garage] This was in preparation for the day when Andy and I caught lots of fish and to store my Rubby Dubby....Guess what ?? It has never had a fish in it caught by me,and is now filled to the top with Apples {chopped up ]Bread [against the heavy snow that prevents us shopping] and Chickens ,surplus to requirements having been purchased whenever they were 2 for
Fugazi
Jack, Apples, bread and chickens for rubby dubby, could this be the problem? Gordon H
Overrun
Hi Zed, I'm a Kayak local fisherman, got fed-up filling the sea with lead from the shore. Seriously though, it's great fun and keeps fitness levels up. Looks downright dangerous but it isn't in the right conditions and with the right gear.
