fisherman1055
I have been looking at radar reflectors for my new boat and found this study on the effectiveness of a number of different types. Please follow the link below. http://www.ybw.com/pbo/pdfs/radar_reflectors.pdf It may help save you some money and buy one that works. djredrupp
i believe that alot of the reports (similar and shorter than that), have found that often the standard solid radar reflectors are almost a false economy, and put you into a false sense of security, thinking that you will be seen by the big ships. from the other tests, i think it was found that only the active (i.e. sends an amplified 'pulse' back) radar reflectors were truly effective, as the others just had so many limiting factors. however the sea-me reflectors are expensive... can you put a price on safety though?!! (much better than thinking your safe!) Dan
