Coddy
Took Sammy out with Bill (Ferret) as crew, with a good feeling of getting some fish, for a change. After a blast through the harbour, we decided to head East and had to slow down as we passed the chain ferry due to the short chop swell. Had a long drift between the piers and picked up x2 plaice and tub gurnards which was a good start. Then headed out to an X-Ray mark and picked up doggies. Then onto a mark I have not tried before and picked up a number of smaller species and lastly onto Poole Patch where we were into wrasse x3 species, poor cod (not on the list for comp), pout, constant rattles and bites made it a good trip. Picked up x2 starry smoothound pups and a dogfish which threw up a baby thornback (not counted) which must have been the size of the egg case it was born in. Never thought doggies would have eaten these! In the end Bill managed 7 differant species with a score of 90 points and I managed 6 with a score of 76. A brilliant day out for us, and good to see Court Jester on the patch, nice looking craft! Radio seemed very quite most of the day so I assumed people were into fish most of the day or too far out to hear. Coddy ps Paul D you should have an email with our score sheets on it.
