corky
Dan, I think the cod must definatley have arrived as we caught a couple around the 2lb mark in the harbour last week. They were caught just off ~~!@*** *!*!* in a spot old foxy had showed me the week before ! Also pulled out a nice pollack at the same mark. Swainiac
Andy, sole will be in abundance just outside the Beaulieu River entarnce, the British record was recently broken from here. Bass will continue to show around the Seagull Island area. If you head back towards stone point........anchor up and bounce small weights and either rag or sandeels over the groyne, to pick up bass to around 4lbs. If you scoot across the solent towards the ledge, you will find a few rays close inshore. Cod will now be showing on the west lepe bouy. Hope this helps. djredrupp
any luck today andy? i cba 2 post in catch reports, because we caught a solitary garfish, after struggling to ground the baits on the spoil grounds, and then moving into poole patch, where we had sprats jumping around us (where the garfish was hooked on a rapala), and then went drifting up n down the training bank! cod inside the harbour you say corky?! do tell!! Mike Fox
So much for my top secret ultra-confidential, on-the-pain-of-castration-with-a-rusty-penknife cod mark! Mike (otherwise apparently known as "old foxy")
corky
Dan I may have said too much already I get the feeling Mike may be salting his rusty pen knife as we speak for that extra zing when he makes the first cut You have a pm Mike - appologies for the "old foxy" line, im sure your younger than you look
Swainiac
Andy, the Sole fishing around the river entrance seems to come in, just as the other sole marks are finishing/finished. It is a very specific area, but you will see one or two boats there, always on the mark. The new British record was actually taken last year, but has only recently been ratified.
