alun j.
Thanks to Rich for the trip out on Warren yesterday ..... using up the worms I'd got for the [postponed] comp. The day started calm and mild ......but gradually went downhill as the wind freshened and clouds lowered .......so a good job the fishing brightened things up !! A steady haul of fat flounders [ best went 2 lbs 4oz.] that have been feeding well on small crabs .... but still found room for a big juicy worm! With one rod out with float tackle and one on the bottom, the final score by lunchtime was surprising .......... 8 - 0 ..... to the float !! Rich tried 'pop-ups', coloured beads and a spoon on the bottom and I stuck with big baits [ big crab attractor!]....but still the float, bobbing about in the surface movement, won out completely! Some nice 'table' fish, but I think something bigger will be needed to well in the comp. I hear reports of big ones in Holes Bay .... but I'd be less keen to eat ones from there! Cheers again Rich........honours more even yesterday! Alun.

Sprinter
I also have some spare worms free to a good home if anyone would like them, only a fivers worth but a shame to waste them. I dont want anything for them, give me a shout if you will use them or i will dump them into Holes bay leter and let them go free. they will probably die but it will make me feel better ;-)

charlieannear
Not that I know anything about nuffink or whatever but I keep all my leftover bait and freeze it up. It might be just coz I'm a tight Cornishman but I reckon it will make some nice stinky groundbait for my Bomb in the new year... won't it? Sorry to hijack your post Alun, very well done. I must learn how to deploy that particular rig. Amongst others... Float fishing eh? Bass, flounder... what's next?
JIMBOB
well done Alun that's quite a haul of flounders I might have to learn how to fish the float for them to. James
alun j.
No secret James......... just adjust depth to keep worms close to the bottom and free of [big] crabs .... flounders seem to eat the little crabs. More difficult is finding a spot where the fish are coming past!!! Alun.
