Rob
Having won a Lowrance LMS-520C in the PBSBAC open last weekend I am now at the point of fitting it. Please can anyone advise if I am correct in thinking that I need to buy charts? If so which are the best ones? The Lowrance website suggests the following are available: Optional MapCreate
duncan
your choice is between the Navionics and the Nautipath I have both (on different Lowrance plotters) on Phaeton generally the navionics have more contour lines marked in areas such as the rips and I believe the latest Navionics (platinum?) have quite comprehensive tides etc prices are now pretty reasonable and you can get an XL covering pretty much the whole of the UK. The Nautipath will cover half of Europe!
Paul J
Rob, I use Navionics gold PJ
britboard
Rob, i use the navionics 28g as it provides the best coverage and detail for the least
great white
Hi Rob As I said at the Mariners I have also just fitted a Lowrance It is using Navionics Gold chart 28G I used Navionics in favour of the Nautipath because it shows better detail and tide info. Very pleased with its first full test yesterday The emulator is an excellent way of learning how to use the new kit Charlie

Rob
Paul, Thanks for the offer but it is done, me too waiting! Unfortunatley no local Chandlerys have the Navionics charts in stock so I am waiting for the to arrive. Mid you I have been pike fishing, lost a good fish on a dead bait, below where we went plugging. At least it woke me up for a bit!! great white
Rob you can still use the unit as a plotter but without a very close up Map feature If you enter waypoints you can still navigate to them and mark features with a selection of icoms Then when the chart arrives it will just show better detail of where they are Have Fun Charlie
