Mike Fox Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 Looks like it's passed well to the south of us, and is now starting to come ashore: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/7197667.stm There will be the odd bit still in our patch for months though! Mike Quote

alun j. Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 What are they going to do with the stuff cleared off the beaches?? They are trying to keep the wreckers off it. Alun. Quote
Sinbad Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 Makes you glad you have a boat, and are not trying to surf cast over that lot. Quote
great white Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 Seems a shame and a waste of timber that they will fine anyone who takes any, but they are destroying it in the process of collecting it. I would think it was cheaper and more eco friendly to encourage people to take some for their own use, rather than pay someone to salvage it or burn it. Charlie Quote
daz Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 i think its more of a safety issue stopping people takeing it, imagine a free for all in amongst that lot you can see the injurylawyers4u rubbing there hands with glee also offical clear up by the owners= less fine from the eco departments?? and also on a eco point i dont think they would appreciate loads of unco ordinated 4x4 and trucks and such tramping over fields and such to get to the beaches apart from that who wants a shed built?? toerag Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 Well it hasn't all gone ashore, one local angling boat here found 8 lengths of timber within 2 hours at the weekend, so keep your eyes peeled!! Quote
