If it's a question of recouping a little money, then there would obviously be some benefit. If, however the boat is paid for and money is not an issue, I can't for the life of me imagine what the benefits would be. Although the 175 is only a foot longer, the amount of additional useful space exceeds this greatly, as I'm sure Adam would agree, having had both boats.

Having said all that, my 165 does most of what I want for accommodating 2 people on a day's inshore fishing. I think I would feel more confident going farther off shore in a 175 but this depends on the type of fishing you are interested in. If I owned a 175, I would want a jolly good reason for downsizing.

I have a 165 and when i take my wife and two kids out (ages 5 and 8) i sometimes prey for a bigger boat.....by the time its loaded with fishing gear, swimming gear, spare clothes, back seat and a lunch box to feed an army there is not a lot of room left. mad.gif

however if you would like to swap i may be interested rolleyes.gif

but surely if time is hard to come by then it does not matter what boat you have waiting for you............believe me i know weep.gif
