JIMBOB
Hi Everyone Its been a while! its been a bit of a hectic summer, but not on the boat!, every time a get "The window" to get the boat of the drive something has got in the way. As beach fishing is as close as i could get and is not affected by tide times (as much) and weather, I've given it a fair crack of the whip. so Ive been doing a lots of beach fishing!, well two or three times a week Ive fished, southbourne the most, but sandbanks, the harbours Poole and xchurch, Avon beach , Boscombe and Bournemouth piers and beaches!, the solent and selsey, Highcliff and Taddiford and hordle! Also done a night trip to Brixham (Berry head )and even been fishing Chesil and walked for Bloody miles on that shingle and Ive caught BU@*ER ALL! To be fair I caught two new species in one night red mullet and gilthead bream at sandbanks, but other than that, a waste of a summer! just lots of pout a few mackerel and small stuff( Aquarium size!) rays and smooth hounds ,bass and markerel but not one fish big enough to eat!! I hope to be getting the boat out a bit more .................... Tight Lines James
great white
Hi James I think that's why we all go afloat. In my case I enjoy playing with the boat as well as getting the better fish that boat fishing seems to bring. I usually post if I am going out and have space, let me know if you are available and we will see what we can do. Cheers Charlie
fisherman1055
James Good to hear from you again I spent 20 years fishing on Chesil andf other beaches, and caught many different fish These days it has deteriorated so much there is a limit to how many dogfish and poor cod you can catch without going mad This why I only fish from the boat now. Deep Sea Dean
Hi James, Live bait at sandbanks works, had one 6lb 2 few couple months back. Boat is without doubt best though, in saying that been out all day on the boat today in the pouring rain and wind for a total catch of one flounder! I managed two off the beach last week within a few minutes, guess thats the way it goes.
Gnasher
alright matey.......im suprised you havn't had anything from mudeford quay. the boys there have had plenty of decent bass on lives and peelers. Also, hurst had had a real good season with plenty of rays (in daytime aswel) comming out. Parkshore, around the s***ge* has thrown up more than 50 stingers (averaging 2 to 3 fish a night) to a mate of mine during the summer, so thers plenty to target. If you can understand the coding, you may know where i mean Anyway, im sure your luck will be back with you when you get the boat back out. You always had a knack of getting something decent when others were struggling
