Thanks for your comments about the aerial yesyerday. I am going to get another one but not sure what is best to get. any ideas ? like what make and length e.t.c

The radio we have is a Navman 7100 if that helps. thanks

You will want a 3dB Marine VHF Antenna. ( Will be around 1.1 metres long )

 

You can get 6dB antenna ( these are 2.4 metres long ) but on a small fishing boat a 3dB is fine ( and can actually be preferable ).
