Lyme Regis

I'm thinking of taking my boys to go fossil hunting down Lyme Regis, any locals got any tips for us?

There are plenty of fossils in the grey \ blackish rock about 1/2 mile East of the Cobb\Harbour. Though this is a little soft and not sure how durable - but easy to break and extract the fossils.

Try Charmouth it has a fossil centre on the beach.

My eldest isn't into fishing so it's out of the question. Also when the sun is out but is too windy to fish I guess it's a great way (and cheap) to keep them busy for the day.
