pirky
Hi guys How do you all keep your transducers from fouling up......I leave mine for a week and it needs a major "de clag".......annoying.....is it avoidable?? Rob
Put it inside the boat.
great white
either get it out of the water, by tilting it up, moving it inside the boat or antifoul it. Mine is inside the boat, shoots through the hull and works fine. So any one would work through a bit of anti-fouling paint. Charlie
pirky
Thanks lads Mine has got the speedo on it too so will not work very well in the boat........the tilt up still leaves it below WL so antifoul is my only option...or red led ?? great white
Anti foul it but be carefull not to do the wheel. any sort of build up on them and they do not work very well ,if at all. Charlie
Sinbad
Dave, You need to check the recommendations from the manufacturer. The first one I Antifouled stated that the paint should be water based not solvent, but currently my garmin is antifouled with interspeed which is definately solvent based antifoul - doesnt foul up - I just give it a brush now and then to remove the inevitable surface deposition. all these comments relate to the transducer not any wheel !
