gaffa
Managed a quick trip out from Cobbs and into the Bay Today.First time out since April Weather was great and I took the opportunity to take out 4 Generations of the Gasson Family for a quick blast and dangle of the rods My 87 year old Mother(who is as spry as they come ) thoroughly enjoyed the trip as did my Daughter and Granddaughter and me of course. We managed some bream each and a couple of small pollack all taken on baited feathers. Managed to Wave To our Chairman as we were exiting the Harbour entrance but couldn't really keep up with him as Boats bottom and Trim Tabs are pretty weedy and need a good scrub. Best I could do today at around 5000rpm was 18knots 4 up. Trip was as usual eventful as 1. My fixed VHF didn't work properly ....No sound output from internal speaker. 2. My Hydraulic steering was rubbish due to lack of fluid in the wheel pump. No real Safety issues with either as I had a handheld VHF and my previous non DSC VHF on the boat both of which work fine. Just got to fix the Silva S10 now. The Steering which needed vigorous lock to lock movements to keep boat in a straight line or to answer helm was temporarily sorted with a top up of hydraulic fluid which I happened to have stashed on board. This is more of a tricky problem as I cant find a leak and I had a new replacement Hydraulic Ram fitted last year for a similar problem. That One was definately leaking. Ah well the Joys of owning a Money Pit. Got a Bit of Repair work to do again. Lovely Day Out though
boyscott
Well done - can't miss opportunities like the current spell of settled weather. Was thinking I hadn't seen you for a while. I headed the other way (W) yesterday and had a very pleaseant day but no monsters. See you soon - I owe you a trip! Max

gaffa
[see you soon - I owe you a trip! Max ] Just make sure you've got those "Monster Marks" sorted out when I take you up on it. I should be able to spend some more time on the boat over the next few weeks so I'll keep an eye out for you. Boat deserves a bit of TLC having been abandonded for so long Tight Lines Peteg
