great white
Hi All Have tried to upload a video on youtube of Dan at the weekend playing an eel in the tide. The upload has failed both at home and at work. The specs say that it has to be less than 2gb and 10 mins and it is, it also says use high def and I have. Does anyone know what may be going wrong? I have tried a few times this year to upload vids, I managed it on 4 occasions but failed on others. Is there an easier way? For info the camera ia a Panasonic DMC-TZ5 Please keep answers simple as poss [Like me ] Charlie
Rob
Charlie, The problem might be one of timeouts. Standard broadband lines are asynchronous, meaning that you may have 10 or 20Mb download speed but your upload speed will be about 5% of that!!!!!! (0.25Mb or 0.5Mb) So there lies a potential problem, you may be hitting the time limit for uploading. Of course if we all lived in the US and had super fast up and down speeds then it would not be an issue! Try uploading a shorter file (thus smaller) just to see if that works. Let us know how you get on. Rob
great white
Thanks Rob I thought that may be the case, its only worked on small /short movies I need to work out how to set the movie on the camera to a lower resolution for these 5 min movies. Paul J
or try an alternative host site to see if it works on those, there are a few about such as Screencast.com, Flickr.com etc PJ

Paul D
Agree with Rob re: timeouts. You don't have any problems uploading videos of me playing eels as I always keep the video short
