great white
I hope that the XC Weather site and their forcast for the end of the week is right. If so Alfresco will be off of her winter berth for the first trip in ages on Sat. The boys have both got early Christmas social arrangements and are not available. Wendy and I are out Sat evening so it will not be a long long day. If anyone fancies a go at the whiting/cod and wants to join me get in touch. Rory
Charlie, would love to come along, but have not fished for cod before so would be a bit of a learning trip for me. Let me know if this suitable and what gear to bring and I'll come along, Cheers, Rory
great white
Hi Rory It would be a pleasure to take you out, Will is also coming and room for one more we just need to get a little nearer the weekend to ensure that there is still going to be a weather window. I ought to ask how your sea legs are? as that may decide the limit on the weather for you [and us] We will not be going that far as I have to be back on time, but we will get a chance of Cod Conger and Whiting I hope. PM me a number and I will call nearer the weekend Charlie

Rory
Well what can I say ! A huge thanks to Charlie for a great days fishing. A good days fishing was had, with enjoyable banter in abundance, coronation chicken sandwiches supplied by Will and top quality fishing knowledge from both Will and Charlie assisting me greatly. Plenty of Whiting, 3 cod up to around 10Lb's, two good sized Pollack of 11 and 12lbs respectively, pouting and conger also, with Will landing a conger of 47lb (A PB i believe). Catching my first cod was superb, a PB Pollack and also seeing this huge conger In terms of the weather, the phrase 'A Bit Sloppy' was used a few times! But not enough to dampen the spirits and stop the fish biting. My Pills did the trick and my sea legs surprisingly stayed up to the task! Once again, a huge thanks to Charlie (& Will) for a great days fishing and sharing their fishing knowledge. Days out like this show the superb fishing knowledge within the club and the generosity of the members (I am sure I owe Will a couple of weights and some other bits of kit!). I've also learnt to keep my pockets zipped up ! if any one ever finds a green Seal Skinz glove, you know where to come !
