Coddy
Hi all I went out today (Saturday) with my son Matthew and cruised up the harbour, got half way up the swash and had to slow down from 16kts to 10 ending up at 6! Plowed our way out to the spoils ground and saw a number of boats out at various places but Matt is not a too good sailor and I don't enjoy being thrown around for the sake of it. So I turned around and headed back into the harbour, seems I was not alone in my thoughts as we saw a number of boats returning. The problem for me was the wave period, depth of swell and travelling broadside to it all. The boat did get a FULL washdown and we had waves chasing us down the swash as well as a bit of surfing! All the while the boat was broadside to the swell, interesting times. Got into the harbour and back to nice calm water Tied up to a buoy but as I only had squid and macky with me we did not expect to catch anything whilst we had lunch in the sunshine, so I was not disapointed! The cabin kept the Easterly wind off us until the tide turned then it was time to move so we had a run up the harbour to the wareham channel and then back, so peaceful. Back in to top up the tanks and an early moor up. I could not have made Sunday's run even if it was on and did not fancy it in that wind and swell.
