The crew of the Alarm were on patrol when they heard an emergency broadcast from a yacht moored off Mitchell's boat yard in Poole Harbour, Dorset. Sgt Andy Hack, Pc Jason Cartridge and Pc Dave Williams tackled the fire on the Lovely Lady on Thursday. Crews from two local lifeboats joined the fight against the fire, which is not being treated as suspicious. Pc Dave Williams said: "Fortunately we were on patrol nearby when we picked up the call on the emergency radio channel and we were able to tackle the blaze very quickly. "This is a good example of how the emergency services, effectively co-ordinated by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, can work efficiently together."
