Hi Martin I havnt been out on the water since early Jan this year ,and now my mate has his skippers licence he is out most weekends with trips ,so i have concentrated more on my Carp fishing .

hi all Havnt fished Rockbourn in at least 4 years ,but when i use to reguarly very few times did i not come away with my limit. What i like most are the lakes being crystal clear generaly ,thus enabling you to stalk individul fish. I could not fly fish a coloured water and just trust to chance . It is great to put a fly past a fish several times and have no reaction then chage fly and bang in one it takes it.

Hi Six of us fished the needled grounds yesterday . Dropped anchor about 3 mile S of the light ,stiff N/E blowing and a bit lumpy ,we anchored on a Dog Kennel ,Dog after Dog after Dog ,so after 3 or so hours we decided to move about 4 miles E of where we were for the rest of the day and the fishing picked up straight away . 4 congers around 40lbs , 1 strap and 2 lost , 3 Smoothounds ,2 Spotted Rays , 1 Whiting around 3lbs several large Pouting and only a few Dogfish alas no Cod.

Hi Looking at your boat it seems you have an outdrive and i would suspect the same as Martin , the Bush has gone . Depending on the condition of you prop i may pay to buy a new one . Last time i was at Cobbs(Prop Revs) i bought two mint secondhand props for the price of a new one , excellent people to talk to They were also selling props that had seperate Bush inserts ,which meant if one went you could take the old one out and put a new one back in yourself, as i understood it.

Hi Just out of interest , the lake i fish for carp has two small stock ponds which have many small 50p sized flatties , its not realy tidal but the tide does back the little stream up and we do have a 4 inch pipe into the stream
