  1. Still for sale, now £11000
  2. Nothing to do with topic, really, but ... All of the class 1 boats have gone back to 4 str piston engines, so the 210mph record will probably stand for a long time
  3. Not interested in Tesco's horse burgers, try their meatballs they are the dogs bollocks! The wife made Tesco beefburgers for tea last night and asked if I wanted anything on it. I said "A fiver each way". If you thought Tesco's were in **** about having horse meat on their burgers just wait til they analyse their Quarter Pandas! My posh girlfriend likes to eat Waitrose finest beef burgers with a bit of Red Wine, I prefer my Tesco value ones with a bit of Red Rum. Gotta admit tho', when the disease inevitably hits - 'Crazy Horses' sounds way cooler than 'Mad Cow' I've tried Sainsbury's and Tesco burgers and I have to say Tesco wins by a nose!
  4. Outrage by Boston Whaler. 5. I have a cloth covered motorcycle chain with lock through the handle, wrapped around the lower casing, and through a SS loop on the transom. Still only a deterrent though John

  7. I am in Hamworthy. Can you post a photo John
  8. Need a name for my Boston Whaler Outrage 17. Back in the AM CB days, I was known as Waverider. Is that a good name for a boat? Any suggestions
  9. Thanks all. The new owner tells me that he and his wife caught more fish yesterday than I have caught in the last six months. Went to Portsmouth to pick up the new boat today, It did not want to come with me. trailer brakes seized. Spent most of the day running round looking for parts. I hope this is not indicative of the rest of the boat!!
  10. Gone, sadly, off to Portsmouth to a new home as floating sunpad and occasional angling boat. I took a Salcombe Flyer 530 in p.ex, bit like a Boston Whaler Montauk 170, centre console with 90hp 4s so I won't be completely boatless
  11. Seems like they are in a catch 22 situation. They need to do something, but the mooring plan is not financially viable.
  12. On mine, (Lowrance structure scan and broadband scan) the two transducers (side and down scan) are on L brackets side by side, roughly at the inside edge of your tabs, but down at the bottom edge of the transom, so they shoot into clear water. I wanted to mount them under the hull with the brackets reversed, but was advised not to.
  13. Now I finally have it finished, it has to go so I can get a smaller one to keep in the drive. Rosie One Faeton 780 sport 7.9m (according to marina), Fitted with full canvas wheelhouse. 2 berth cabin with sea toilet. Provision for small cooker. 240hp Yanmar diesel (542 hours) on shaft. Lowrance HDS8 plotter with platinum charts, broadband sonar, sidescan sonar (structure scan), integrated VHF (includes foghorn, hailer, plot friends on plotter), Garmin autopilot, Garmin AIS B transponder. 2 anchors, one on bow windlass long chain), one in cockpit, flare pack. 2.7m honwave dinghy on snapdavits, with 2hp 2stroke outboard and electric pump 4 person liferaft in cockpit. Loads of storage space. I have knocked a couple of thousand off in the hope of a quick sale hence

  18. With much regret, Rosie One is withdrawn. Boat is up for sale and I may not have it next month. Many apologies for mucking Dave about. Perhaps someone can offer him a berth John

  20. Have a good one, Dan John
  21. Just looking through the timetable of bridge lifts, and most make good sense. Eg, in the morning, the old bridge will open as soon as TS bridge shuts, allowing boats to go out ok. Later, 4:00pm onwards, TS bridge opens as soon as old bridge closes, allowing boats into Holes Bay OK. However, if you go out in the morning and have to come back early, say, to catch the old bridge lift at 14:45, you will be stuck in the pool until the TS bridge opens at 16:15, 1 1/2 hours later. What if the reason for your early return was an emergency??? Comments?? John
  22. puffins next?
  23. As a pet owner, I think that it is obscene that part of the dwindling stock of tuna goes into catfood. Farmed salmon is surely good enough for my moggy John
  24. Many happy returns John
  25. the blue foam used for cores in glassed-over structures is usually blue polystyrene, closed-cell foam. closed-cell foam cannot waterlog, in the event of glassfibre skin failure, and blue foam has a fairly high density (small bubbles) giving greater strength to the core John
