  1. I think I might notice if I was 50km out!
  2. I've fished for Black Bream since mid 50's in spots such as Bullocks Patch, Bembridge ledge, Littlehampton & Poole area. In those early days I remember hundreds of small fish being taken in competitions, but don't remember too many large (specimen) fish. It maybe because in those days competitions were won by heaviest catch - not fish over a certain size etc. In the last few years I find you can still catch as many small (undersized) fish as you want as long as you use small hooks. I also find that there are more large fish around - over 4lb. So, I don't see much change in the available fish, I think it is more to do with using larger hooks which make it more difficult to catch the hundreds of small fish which are undoubtably still there. (And are now seen as "nuisance fish") Any other sentimental old Fa..ts out there?
  3. There's a yellow & black cardinal buoy further up the beach towards B'mouth. Sorry no photo.
  4. I don't think this website is to blame - I've never had a bsod from any website. More likely a corrupt driver or sometimes caused by McAfee.
  5. Sorry! Didn't see previous post!!!
  6. According to Poole Sea Angling Centre it has been postponed again - until Jan 12th.
  7. Could always have been a submarine!
  8. If you drop it in Poole or B'mouth all the bait will fall out!
  9. This is an interesting idea if it works: http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2012...net-dyson-award At least it shows someone is thinking about this problem.
  10. It's good to see the hook extraction works so well, but a word of caution. ANY deep penetrating wound is an ideal site for a Tetanus infection, so make sure you have up to date cover or go to A&E for a booster injection. (It only hurts slightly more than a hook wound!!)
  11. This is going to be contentious! There is a scientific body of thought that it is the mature fish that shoud be returned and the small fry kept for the pot! The taking of a few tiddlers is more than offset by the Millions of millions of eggs released by a 20lb cod. The DNA is also "improved" by the "survival of the fittest" scenario. However, the problem as always, is how to police it.
  12. Just for interest, Teflon is the brand name given by the DuPont company for PTFE so would appear to be the same chemical..
  13. Try ZOPA at ZOPA No middle men!
  14. Message from PHC today that the Backwater channel in Poole will be closed to all boat traffic on Friday 14th October from 0800 to 1800 or until work on new twin sails bridge is finished. (whichever is sooner). There will be a 100m exclusion zone above & below the bridge workings.
  15. Just on a point of accuracy, Oil Seed Rape is used to make Bio Diesel NOT ethanol.
