Thanks for the input chaps and Charlie your comment: 'Having a good fishfinder does not guarentee finding good fish' Anything has to be better than the old Navman unit that it's replacing - it has never shown a single fish and struggles to show depth if you go over 10 knots! Andy

Hi all I'm hoping to install a new fishfinder during the winter months and have been looking at the Lowrance DSI range (either the 4X or 5X - depending on what The Wise One allows me to spend!). The images look pretty good or is that just gimicky sales blurb - if anybody's used one or got one can you let me know what you think. Cheers Andy

Hi - my name is Andy and have just joined this week. I have a Beneteau Ombrine 700 moored in Christchurch ( bit of a compromise I know, but I was only allowed a boat if it could be converted to have a sunpad!) I get out whenever I can - which this year has not been much - but look forward to extending my limited angling knowledge with the club. Hopefully will meet some of you at the meeting tomorrow.
