  1. Went with Robs advice in the end and got a tehri nordic 6020 with a tiller steer 30hp etec. Plenty of room, very light and quick enough.Very pleased. Cheers Rob and everyone else who gave advice.
  2. Suzuki 9.9 shortshaft, tiller steer. Just run in, oils and filter changed. New price
  3. Cheers Rob, there's one in BHG at the moment with a 25hp and if it's still there next month [after i get paid] i'll have a look. I have looked at a couple in the past but not having a solid cuddy put me off, not so bothered now.
  4. Thanks Dave, i think if i'm sensible the orkney 440 or maybe the nordic6020 with a folding cuddy could be o.k. for the ledge or south of the needles in good weather. Both are light and seaworthy from what i've read, any views on either would be appreciated.
  5. Thanks Rob, the max car and trailerweight is 2310kgs. Car kerb weight=1093kgs. car loaded max=1510kgs. This leaves 800kgs for a braked trailer, hence 546kgs should be the legal unbraked max. I live less than 2 miles from the lymington ramp and about 9 from mudeford, no hills to worry about. The Honda 450kgs max includes 12% hills. I'm talking myself into this.
  6. Looking on the vosa site my car weights 1093kgs, so with an unbreaked trailer i can tow 546kgs and any weight in the car doesn't get added onto the trailer weight. I think i've read it right and if so im still in the running for a pilot4. Desperation, rosetinted glasses and clutching at straws spring to mind but i think i could be borderline legal.
  7. Thanks for info Rob, it's looking like an unbraked trailer is out of the running, unless i went for my 2nd choice an orkney 440, boat weight about 200kg with engine trailer and gear approaching max unbraked towing weight. I've got a lot to think about now and thanks again for info, i don't want to make an expensive mistake.
  8. I think i'll wait till after she's cooked my christmas dinner, otherwise it could be beans on toast.
  9. Rob i short listed the 6020 being light and not needing a big engine, but i want a solid cuddy, getting soft. I,ve spoken to Jim who has given me a lot to think about, mainly my cars max towing weight of 450kg unbraked or 800kg braked, very borderline. Any advice on telling her indoors we need a bigger car?
  10. Looking at getting another boat within the next few weeks. I've previously owned orkneys and a wilson flyer14'. Towing car is a Honda jazz hence limited towing weight. I live in lymington and launch here and mudeford. Any recommendations for a smallish light boat for fishing south of the needles in good weather. Have been looking at the orkney440 and the pilot4. Any advice or opinions would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance,Brian.
