  1. Unfortunately the weather is getting worse not better at the moment. I will post conformation tomorrow evening. If we do cancel, I will try moving again to the W/E 22-23rd if we still have a good number wanting to give it a go. All in the hands of the weather gods. Jerry
  2. I have a friend who fishes the Usk regularly and they are a relatively common occurrence. It would be great to see them in the Severn, certainly I heard of 3 being caught between Poole and Chesil last year, did Alan not have one ? Or was that an Allis Shad?
  3. Hi, Unfortunately due to the weather the Bream comp is cancelled and will be re scheduled next weekend 15-16th May. I will re post next week and hopefully everyone and more will be able to take part. Jerry
  4. Have a great day๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿฅณ
  5. Hi, I will chat with other committee members later today but itโ€™s certainly not looking good. Jerry

  7. Belated Birthday wishes๐Ÿฅƒ๐Ÿฅƒ
  8. Thankyou Steve, I think I will need to know which day you are planning! Sorry to be a pain but impressed by your enthusiasm, sure you will add end of next week. Best Jerry
  9. First Competition for a while, Bream seem to be showing thank goodness. Hopefully all the usual names will be putting there names down and more importantly some new names. Itโ€™s always good fun and if you are new to the club you usually get to meet a few members if not chat on channel 6. Any one not sure about how it all works or even how to catch Bream give me a call or message me ( I havenโ€™t caught a Bream this year yet๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„) I will put another reminder up next week, this is just to give you time to build up Brownie points with her indoors!!
  10. Have a great day with no work and too much ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿฅณ
  11. Have a great day, youโ€™d better let Grandad catch a few this year๐Ÿ˜œ Hope your heads ok๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿ˜ซ๐Ÿ˜ซ
  12. Thankyou Alun, does that mean spent egg casing? or could there be active eggs still there?
  13. Great weather window, so a trip to check the boat and drown some worms. Big tides limited things a bit but drifting down the front and past the piers gave us a really wonderful welcome back to the real world. With nets and a trawler out to annoy us we had some lovely Plaice to a PB 50cm on a new rod, Dabs, Tub Gurnard, Whiting and a beautifully marked Thornback. The boat worked well, the fish obliged, the weather was kind so a perfect day. Can anyone ID the spherical egg casing I caught?
  14. Have a great day, and a few ๐Ÿท๐Ÿท๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
  15. Good news, if this happens at Poole can it be counted as a new species๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ
  16. I have spent a long time along with many others looking for a clear idea when we can get to our boats. Itโ€™s not easy, but looking on the government site and RYA site I believe I can use the boat from the 29th. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ
  17. Happy birthday Dean, try and have a beer in Alderney if and when๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
  18. Thanks Alun, Those of us sat away from the coast love ANY reports. Something to dream about in the future. Please guys any good bad or indifferent reports, put them in there to keep us landlubbers going๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ Capt going bonkers
  19. As I see it at the moment, after 29th March those of us who donโ€™t live close to our boats will be able to travel, however thatโ€™s still a grey area. Had my jab yesterday so that makes me at least feel like we are moving forwards ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿฅณ As per previous post, if anyone in the know hears anything do please post๐Ÿ‘
  20. Not everything Greenpeace do can necessarily be commended, but I think we really need to see the government moving to start saving our environment. If this action promotes some movement I approve wholeheartedly.
  21. Hopefully these dates will be safe from any virus related problems. May 8th-9th Bream Comp June 12-13th Species Comp July 3-4th Flatfish Comp August 14-15th Ray Comp September 11-12th Bass Comp All the above are subject to our usual club rules, picking which ever day suits you and saying on the site or informing a committee member beforehand. Lets hope for a great summers fishing and competitions.
  22. Happy birthday, donโ€™t wear that engine out!! ๐Ÿฅƒ๐Ÿฅƒ
  23. If anyone hears from RYA or government bodies that those of us over 10 miles from there boats can use them PLEASE post. I cannot find anything at the moment. ๐Ÿ˜–๐Ÿ˜–๐Ÿ˜–๐Ÿ˜–๐Ÿ˜–
  24. Very sorry to hear the sad news, the little I new him, he was generous with his knowledge and will be a big loss to the club. Condolances to all his family. RIP
  25. Hi Mike, I was advised not to antifoul my legs, first season I had a lot of growth, they cleaned up fairly well with careful power washing, however it used to really annoy me so I decided to use Trilux 33 second season. It did a really good job and certainly must have helped with fuel consumption. Jerry
