    Goodbye, Dad

Bob, I was sorry to hear the news as well. It's indeed a hard time but as Martin says time does heal and soften the blow. as Dan says you never know quite what to say ( or type ). Paul

    Still polishing the fishing rod
  5. Nice fishing and I am amazed you took a video on a kayak. Doesn't it get worrying that the video will get wet and broken ?

    Morning All

    - You love it really. Anyway - the "fireworks" question seems to have a fair few stumped. So I guess I had better help.
  11. Found a way in ( and it aint pretty ! ). It would appeat that the DNS lookup for the web site isn't working from the BT DNS servers. Also it is not working from the Demon servers either. I edited my "hosts" file to get in.
  12. Welcome to the forum Mr Bassman. Perhaps you would like to take part in our comp to win a Solid-C rod. There is still time to catch the leader. Enjoy the forum and the home of the South's if not the countries best small boat fishing club.
  13. Mike, Glad to see you got out but who cares about the catches - everyone is doing the comp - ( only kidding ). Not the type of day to venture from the harbour I would think. Had a trip out yesterday with Paul J and got one bass and what seemed like a ton of dogfish. Fished Southbourne Rough and the sea was lumping up a bit as well. Coming back in with only interior light + nav lights as my steaming light broke. On arrival at Wick we were met by the police who had been alerted to the prescence of an Orkney coming upstream. Nice to know they are keeping an eye on things. I told them PJ made me take the boat It was tempting to turn around just before the slipway and steam off upstream - "just to see what happens" - but decided that wouldn't be so clever. Anyway - about the most exciting part of the trip out.

    My Brain Hurts

Andy, Take a break, I cant see Charlie getting there before the morning. There again Rich and Sinbad are on a roll.
  15. Rich, Yours was one of the easiest, since you let me in to your little secret
  16. Duncan, Warm on one, correct on one and yours was "crackable" as you are probably aware A secure password is not viewable in any way. For example a password of "fishing" is stored as "819a07afa4abc8660ec9042038a8c597" this could also be the code stored for the complete works of shakespere encoded ! "Fishing" is easily guessed but easily found when a computer can try out thousands/millions of passwords per sec. To be honest, I only tried it out of interest and it shocked me. I can only guess the password from the calculated number. When users have simple ones then a program can easily guess it in seconds. Another thing I have found that can be done which even opened my eyes, is theprogram can dump the "protected storage" areas of the PC you are on. This contains all my so called "secure" passwords. Bank account details, credit card details etc. - astounding. If you sell your PC, I would erase the hard drive if I were you !
  17. How many people know me personally ? How many of you know I can be trusted ? Luckily for some of you I can...... Here is a lesson for those of you using forums on the internet. When you enter a password it is encoded and stored away. Good bet that you use the same one elsewhere. As an administrator you can access these encoded passwords and using a nifty program you can go about trying to guess passwords. As am experiment ( as I am a bit sad like that ), I wondered how many on our forum could be found by the program. Answer is :- MINE ! - ( now changed ). and another 13 users in half an hour. The same password is actually in use by 5 different members ( I was trying to guess it manually to start but cracked it in 5 secs using a program ). Other people might think their passwords are secure but if it is stuff fishing rods are made of it isn't ! If it is the name of things sticking to the underside of boats it isn't...... Basically if your password contains only characters and no numbers it is easily determined and I am now off to drain your bank accounts of money ( only kidding ).

    Luggage Problems

  19. Hey Rich, I suspect that PJ left one of your "top secret" lead weights in trnasom of my boat. I was wondering where it came from !
  20. A number of forum users have queried as to why they have been unable to access some of the posts of mine. Do not worry, I have restricted access to some of my posts as I am formulating a competition which hopefully will "go live" on 13th October. Trust me it will be well worth waiting for........
  21. Adam, Do you have MSN messenger ? - If so then I could use remote assistance to help you sort this out. Are we talking Outlook or Outlook Express ? Assuming Outlook Express - Select Tool/Accounts and then highlight the mail account you use. Select Properties. Do you have the "Use this account when receiving or synchronising" checked ? If it isn't then you wont receive anything.
  22. Definitely up for a trip out on the weekend. I haven't caught a ray this year, so fancy a go at the rays on the smaller tides. I am assuming you mean a buddy boat.
  23. Nope - I watched him walking out. The guy to the left ( as in his RHS ) is kiteboarding though.
  24. Very nice fish, it looks almost as big as him ! Get him signed up and he can give the other juniors a run for their money
  25. Picture of Gastronaught out today
