Thanks guy's I'm having the stator checked out,I have done a continuity test seemed to beep ok but I've got a guy coming a mate of a mate to run some meter test on the engine. Gutted going to mis Saturday open.

Thanks for all input have checked all the above,I know it sounds and points to fuel problems but I'm maybe looking at electrical problem, not being electrically minded but is there components that could break down under load rather than tick over,I'm going to change plugs, and some connectors.

Hi Guy's, Put boat back in today try out engine,had carbs cleaned,New diaphragm etc on fuel pump,New bubble and tank connectors New fuel lines. Same problem starts fine would tick over all day if I left it. Put in gear off we go nice and steady get up on plane after 150 yards or so completely died no putt putt just died put hook in waited about half hour starts runs stops again,baffled any idea's please. Thanks guys for birthday wishes I'm in the Caribbean (Aruba) till Wednesday the boat back in water Thursday/Friday, going to mis the 48hr but ha ho can't be in two places at once

Hi all, Just joined club first post, been beach fishing, charter boat fishing over the years, now i got my own little boat Shetland Family Four had it nearly 3 years. Managed to get mooring North Haven Yacht Club this year, having a few probs with engine but I sure my mate can sort it out for me, just need some spare time and decent weather. Cheers Steve
