    Steering queery

ones I have seen are designed to be held in place between the tubes rather than attaching as you illustrate. If it was just the steering it's relatively simple but then you need the controls.......... as a bad back man I would avoid any of this as 1. being hunched over and 2. bounced around whilst hunched over, are not high on my list. Sitting nicely upright on the seat with the tiller beside me does it for me!
  3. I would echo everything Martin has said - either will do the job; any issues will be down to the actual unit rather than the model/make and get it supplied, installed and serviced by the same firm.

    Steering queery

jack I have seen a number of diy jobs revolving around 'wedged' solutions and one that utilised the tie down D for the remote fuel tank. overall I would simply recomend a tiller extension on anything that doesn't have a rigid floor. the amount of time you can safely travel at more than 10 knots (and feel the need for a wheel in one hand and engine controls in the other) is so small - tiller and lean back for the engine gears after throttleing back works for me. I have 2 seat fittings and can operate the extension sitting facing forwards on the front one if I choose (but it's a little twitchy on the steering!)
  5. great picture - difficult to capture a conger in the water so well
  6. two rods, one fish, no hair.....

andy - no delay but......... there are no images uploaded to your (or any other) gallery in April. case of try again or use attachments direct to post
  8. sounds like a lot of fun Andy. variety of baits and tactics? glad the boat went well too - always a moment for concern.
  9. great to see the sea that flat - even if I am not on it!

from memory (bad one) 1. adjustment layer red/green gradient at 118 degrees / 18% opacity 2. abjustment layer contrast +5% / 30% opacity 3. adjustment layer gausian blur 5 pixels / 60% op 4. adjustment layer exposure gamma +0.95 / 60% op slight crop to both frame and balance by removing the bulk of the dark water. brief I was given involved giving it the look it would have had if he'd been able to shoot a little earlier when it was a touch redder. have to say the 'clean up' was done really nicely on the other version- good job.

Dan Email me the full size original - you have my email address I believe. If not pm me - the site email address isn't active I believe. I agree it looks a nice imagae but I am not sure you actually need to remove the gear! Will play around with it for you though. Duncan
  14. 16-18 kts for a nice cruise back from the rips - it's rare I want to travel faster although if it's really flat I may run at 24 for longer runs.........35 is reserved for when the bar is closing or we have run out of beer onboard (last June into St PP for example...but we couldn't shake AWOL!)
  15. all the best in your new home Tom bream marks - absolutely everywhere; but of course the bream don't have the same charts so they might not actually be there when you are bass marks - loads and loads and loads; but some people think they are private property........ wrecks............hahaha! I usually head SW and end up in the same ones you already know SE of Weymouth. I don't think there are any that consistently fish for cod or pollack at all - just as you will have found with the ones you fish 'out west'.
  16. given that it would have broken the current club record it's definitely a nice eel! I have every confidence in that record going this year - but the record holder remaining the same........
  17. thanks for sharing Fred - nice catch there. the conger looks really meaty; did it put up a good fight? good to see you are getting out and about. hope to join you at some point.

    Fishing bug

anyone who's bored and wants to refurbish a couple of my rods please let me know.........
  19. pretty yellow hull and looks well equipped but do you think pics like this sell an angling boat? no problems with the codling and rays but the 'pile' of doggies?
  20. Don't you believe it - always someone on the radio making me thing I should be putting more effort into the fishing when I'm out there - or someone on here making me thing I should be out there! Sleep? pah Welcome
  21. mines a racor 500 'ish - they have changed the models around a bit glass lower / and about as standard a filter as the industry has!
  22. personally I would get the Tohastu 9.8 2 stroke for that boat - it's the lightest in class with loads of torque. Easy to remove for storage and safety if you choose (sub 30kg?) I haven't experienced oiling up with 2 stroke OBs for a long long time. equally the noise is as much model dependant as 2 v 4 stroke at these sizes On the other hand it may not be available anymore as a new unit

    help "again"

almost a shame when I got to the final post Reg - "ballsy" was my initial thought! as has been pointed out - you have been quoted the usual price for that trailer new. this leaves you a number of alternatives. I would just highlight that there is a good reason that used trailers are significantly discounted! If you are happy with the provenance then you can get a bargin but if not you can end up with a money pit. You have about 2 weeks before demand rockets .......... and in 6 weeks you will be begging for one!
  24. not a lot of pollack on the inshore ones given your range I would have thought you would be best off the south of the Island - there are a fair number of wrecks marked on the dive sites and equivalent available online. if this is over 8 miles then you are probably out of luck! problem is that if the conditions are good then the sea is clear (er) and the eels seem to stop feeding during the day. Really coloured water or after dark and you won't need to go very far at all for eels to 60....
  25. solid choice, blue hulled expample looks very smart and breaks up the otherwise slightly tubby lines really well - keeping it smart will be another matter of course! Aquablue sounds a perfect name........
