  3. Hey Zzippy, I know we call ourselves Poole Bay Small Boat Angling Club, but this is taking to Small to it's extreme. No, seriously, it is great to see. Brilliant stuff. My wife and kids have just starting Kayaking at the Blandford Club and are trying to rope me into paddling around Poole harbour one day. Yeh, right!! cheers BF

As Paul says, the new daylight viewable colour displays are much easier to see than the B&W. Do for colour for both the FF and Plotter if you can afford it. BF
  6. Nice report Duncan. Sorry to hear about the brake in. Paul, I was thinking the same thing for the weekend. Forecast looks ok. BF
  7. Tony, Can only answer a couple of these. The fishing is brilliant out a Christchurch. A great variety of choises. The only problem is the tide restrictions at low water because of the sand bar at Mudeford, and a couple of shallow sections coming up the river. I usually try to aviod 2 hrs either side of low water. Some get away with 1 hr either side, depending if its neaps or springs. Is mooring better than trailering? Depends on the size of your boat. Lots of pros and cons. Having a boat on a trailer means you can mess with your boat to your hearts content when it's on the drive. It's also easy to load up and prepare the boat. If you are on a mooring you will need to load up a small tender to get your gear onto your moored boat. That can be a pain. If you can reach the boat from the shore then I'd suggest you are vulnerable to vandalism. If you're on a mooring you will restrict your self to that location. Do you want to trailer to other venues? Personnaly, if I am mooring a boat I would go all the way and put it on a pontoon to aviod all the other hassles of a swinging mooring. But its all up to you and your individual circumstances. There's no right answer. BF
  8. Yes, I think it's definitely worth a try during the Summer when Weymouth gets busy. But I didn't check what the lauching hours are. Not sure if the reception is open at 7am. I'll check if we decide to use it. By the way, the guy launching his boat by they castle said that they are catching bass at the races. BF
  9. What a great trip. How far out were the wrecks? BF

Give us your total budget first, and then I can give you a few options. Do you want a colour plotter or b&w? Do you want a colour FF or B&W? What size screens do you want? I suggest 5" minimum. Do you want to play with the charts back at home on your computer? Do you want to load way points back at home on your computer? cheers BF
  11. What a star.
  12. Very nice document, Adam. Karen an I had a look at the Castletown slip on Portland Bill today. Absolutely packed with Divers and Dive Boats. The carpark was over flowing, and I couldn't see anywhere to leave the trailers. Not impressed. Just round the corner, by the "Castle" I noticed a guy about to launch a boat on the small slip which had locked posts at the entrance. So, I had a little chat. The slip is owned by the Portland Sea Angling Club. It costs
