  1. 2-Man Inflatable Dinghy for sale. Type Achilles LT2. Wooden floor boards, twopiece oars, pump and carry bag Stainless bow towing ring Outboard attachment - suit 2HP maximum. Weight 18kg Length 220 cm Beam 124 cm Capacity 290 kg This is a small inflatable, old, but little used in lovely condition and without any repairs. It has spent most of its life in the locker, used mainly as an emergency tender, or on occasion when going ashore to the beach on sandbanks. It rows easily, but is ideal with one adult and two kids or two medium adults. Rolls up to a manageable size, which can be easily stowed, or go in the the boot of the car. Ideal 'get you ashore' in Alderney! These are still made - so can find more details on google. £125.00 will seal the deal. Paul - 01425 475413, or 07538 772 198
  2. I was out early on Friday, so missed the comp....but at least could get out for a play. Ballard seemed devoid of bream whilst on the ebb (I should have known this!)....and the mackerel on peverill were scattered...but at least a few baits. Then off to a bank SE and had a good few small tope..nothing big but good fun all the same. Amongst all the doggies a bonus turbot..plate sized only but very welcome. Pity just the one, but worth trying for next time. Well done to all those who fished.
  3. Hi Adam Just logged in - looking to see how you got on, expecting to see lots of smiling and sunburned faces with plenty of superb catch pictures to go with it, and what a shock! As others have said, its a bitter pill to swallow, but at least the buddy system worked exceptionally well and you were all back safely, no external damage to JV, and at least you know she can be fixed given time and effort. Really sorry for you, considering all the prep time it takes for such a trip. Hope you get it diagnosed soon and its not too serious. Regards Paul
  4. Yep, totally agree... Apart from this wednesday, which was spot on forecast wise!! I've taken up sailing again (part time)
  5. Had a great day round at Ballard..first fish to Alun, then my first of the day 3lb 9oz... Straightaway after setting the anchor, I lost my bucket over the side, watched it go downtide until it was a pin-prick size. Doh!! An hour later it had re-appeared !! but right inshore and still un-reachable. Once we were surrounded by the other boats, we were all spinning around the anchor as the wind beat the feable tide, so we decided with a couple of good fish in the box, and only smaller ones coming over the side to make an early return. By now the bucket had crabbed its way back along the shore line and was heading towards swanage beach, so we zoomed round and picked this up on route. Felt really warm for the first time this year in the sunshine! Well done to everyone who made the effort..and were rewarded with a few fish. Paul

  7. My replacement waders arrived today, but I ordered a size bigger than normal - and they are massive (for me). These are "koala" waders cost 47.50 incl postage. They are great quality - no problems there, so I will order some more of a smaller size. But before I go to the effort of posting them back - if anyone wants them.... Say £40.00 Brand new- only unpacked tonight... I can bring to the meeting on Thursday. Let me know on here or text me on 07538 772 198 Paul
  8. Thanks James..give me a call end of next week... Paul
  9. Hi Allan, When I upgraded, I went for the Raymarine e7D, its both touch screen and has a rotary control at the side. I dont think it makes alot of difference when it gets bumpy in my boat, its just as hard to operate the screen in either mode and look where you are going, so I dont find the touch screen at all a disadvantage. Also, would you use any plotter without at least wiping your hands quickly on a towel ?? i suppose if it were an open boat and you had gloves on, then you'd use the rotary control more. Lastly, the screen is a massive improvement in the angle of view and brightness from my last 10 year old plotter, so a swivel mount just isnt necessary anymore. Hope this helps! Paul
  10. 14.25" prop +trim tabs ??? At least you can pack the box with braid and other goodies!!
  11. Get ready for bait gathering!! FREE !!! FREE!! I have a Freezer and a separate Fridge Freezer, which have been used as additional storage capacity in our garage for the last couple of years. The Freezer is massive, and has been used partly for familly frozen stuff and partly for storing summer baits..The fridge freezer is also handy for storing filleted catch to keep it and fishy smells away from complaining spouses!!! but we are now downsizing and need to pass these on. Both are in reasonable condition inside and out (hygienic), They are probably 10 years old, but work fine. Large Upright Electrolux EU3200C Freezer Dims 1740 H x 590 W x 610 D Capacity (Food) 276 Litres, 7 shelves, with pull out baskets. Large integrated Fridge Freezer Whirlpool 50/50 M Approx Dims 1700 H x 550 D x 560 W - Designed to fit built in unit, but has been freestanding. Collection on or after the 28th March from BH24 1QU I can email some photos if required, or may post some here if I can. Paul - 07538 772 198
  12. Im afraid its not good news...... I heard tonight there had been one casualty who died. what a tragic waste of life...maybe preventable..but very sad all the same. Paul
  13. I'd second that...the atlantic weather charts show strong winds and rain. Im going down to the boat later to tie it up for yet another week...... Paul
  14. Alun....Is the wine all at the bottom of the hamper, or is this the 'salvation army ' version??? Oh yes! I can see it now..was hiding behind some bicuits..the joys of internet on smartphones!!! Paul.
  15. Mal, No doubt Martin will advise on the magic number - you have to post more often in your own right, not just respond to others posts!!! Good Luck Paul
