    What Service

I think you will enjoy the new rod. I have the 6 lb version, it is great to use, very light and good fun with even the smaller fish. Good luck Darren.
  2. We were out along Ballard yesterday aswell and similarly found it a bit lumpy. Decided to give it best as Tracey was along for the ride and fished a couple of spots in the harbour. We were troubled by lots of very small schoolie Bass which is a very good sign for the future and managed one nice plump flounder which went home for tea. Might be trying again today. Darren.
  3. Nice bream Malc. from another newcomer. Hope to try the ledge soon if this wind dies down a bit. Darren.
  4. I shall consider myself ticked off re pot markers! Sorry Martin but I am afraid I now have to work Sunday so the Bream comp. is out until next year. Thanks for the offer of the route to the Bream mark, maybe I could take you up on that at a later date. Thanks to all, Darren.
  5. Some better fishing at last. Went out on "June" yesterday. A late start as my fishing companion had to finish off some work in the morning but we got out about midday and decided to try Poole patch. When we got there the patch looked pretty full with three charters and a few private boats already fishing so we motored up to a buoy and tied off. First drop provided a nice Bream, my first on "June", but subsequent casts we kept losing tackle (snagging the bottom) and decided to move to the other end of the patch. Again my first cast and another decent Bream but this time we continued to catch until we finally decided to give up at around 1700. The weather remained dry but the wind and a steady swell made the fishing not quite as comfortable as it could have been. All in all the day was very enjoyable and a mixed bag of fish was very welcome, Bream to 2.5lbs, a solitary Bass of 2.5lbs, Wrasse, Pouting and the inevitable doggies. An uneventful trip back to Rockley and two of the Bream (both males) were very tasty and I slept well last night safe in the knowledge that my position as the chief hunter gatherer/provider for the family was secure!!! Tight lines Darren.
  6. Would that be a pleasure cruise then???!!***
  7. Many thanks for the offers. I hope to be able to get out on Sunday, weather permitting. Darren.
  8. My first post and sorry there is not much to report. Went out in 'June' from Rockley on Friday morning, the weather was a bit iffey and we were limited for time so with the sea being a bit lumpy and a limited supply of Stugerons we decided to just fish a mark in Poole harbour. The fishing was a bit slow but we finished up with a couple of schoolie bass which of course went back and a medium flounder. Despite the weather and the lack of anything much to report it was nice to be out and I would like to thank all on the site for the tips I have gleaned so far. I hope to be able to get out of the harbour this week some time and do some proper fishing, the bream sound enticing and there seems to be a few about although I am unsure of the best marks. Tight lines Darren
  9. Thanks for the welcome. The boats name is "June", I will be keeping an eye open for "Awol" and some of the other boats I have seen on the web-site. Looks like we might be out and about tomorrow if anyone else is in the harbour give us a wave!!
  10. Hi, My name is Darren. I have just bought my first boat in partnership with my prospective father-in-law Alan, and am looking forward to a summers pleasure cruising and not a little fishing. I have been a long term beach fisherman who has always harboured (forgive the pun) thoughts of owning a boat one day. Our boat is a 21 foot Arvor which we will be keeping at Rockley Boat Park, Poole. I hope to meet you in the coming months and maybe pick up a few tips from some of you. Tight lines.
