dom.. almost certain you blown the output tranny .. to confirm this you could try getting a hand held within a couple of meters of your radio .. you might hear very lowlevel audio befor it goes through the final output tranny if you give me the make and model i'll find a price to repair it .. but could easily be

NOPE I WAS'NT THERE THAT NIGHT WHEN HE CAUGHT IT .. BUT QUIET OFTEN FISHED WITH HIM HAD SEVERAL FISH 4LB + FROM THE SAME MARK WHICH IS A GOOD FISH FROM THE BEACH.. HE CAUGHT THE FISH AROUND 11 ISH AT NIGHT AND WEIGHED IT IN 10 HOURS LATER .. SO IT LOST A BIT OF WEIGHT IT WAS A FEMALE AND THE RECKON HER MATE WOULD OF BEEN BIGGER... AND HE'S STILL OUT THERE ... IT WAS CAUGHT ON THE EVENING OF FATHER'S DAY WHEN EVER THAT IS..

i too had a problem with a abu reel which i sent for repair..which was returned to me looking like new.. with a note saying sorry i experienced a problem.. AND NO CHARGE..why fish with any thing else..
