  1. These type of paravanes enable you to fish without using alot of lead.. They are shaped to keep the lines deep in the water, there are three different line fixing positions to change the depth of the line in the water. They are designed so that when a fish takes the vane looses its hold on the water. One can also get quick release clips to fasten to the transom which keeps line in correct position when trolling. It is a good way of finding bass on the move.

  8. Can anyone recommend some sea fishing waterproofs, I purchased a good set of AnyfishAnywhere jacket and trousers about 6 years ago but they are falling to bits, pockets unstitched, lining full of holes, and have long since retained their waterproofness. I prefer the smock type jacket and it needs a good hood. It is also useful having some leg pockets on the trousers for tackle, spare leads etc. I did not want to go to the expense of goretex because it would get covered in boat fishing crud. It would also have to remain waterproof after being in the washing machine and light and comfortable for summer but warm in winter. If anyone could offer any advice that would be good.
  9. I can recommend you get a pair of LE CHAMEAU wellies. They are terrific non slip - the best I have tried and I have used them to stand on the side of the hull using a harness, pretty extreme. They are made from real rubber so they are soft and supple. If you can afford it you can't beat the leather lined version. I wear the normal not leather lined version with thick socks in winter time. 30 years ago they were the Equinnox brand. Mine are good for 15 years hard graft - I am on my second pair in 32 years, nor bad. They are a french brand used by all the french commercial fishermen.
