Wedger
Having completed finally the mechanical 'mending' side of her progess, I'm concentrating on practical stuff, gear and efficiency. CuNigard Bttm. for 10 + years anti foul me hopes!! Nice Polish New Name graphics subject to price - side rails and rod holders TBA Re calc prop!!!!!! signs that I'm under pitched on calc, by 2", going from A3 t0 A5. The driver, is efficiency first, them MAX speed, so we're re-pitching by 1.25" for first assessment of performance. with another 3/4 on calc left in hand from book figures. By looking at the change, we should determine engine performance and therefore our maximum achievable efficiency and speed. Here goes!! Bream on!! go to my gallery Otter for the full sized pics. Wedger
This type of dedication needs a plausible handle such as "labour of love" "a fulfilling experience" " a quest for perfection"...................... or you'd go freekin' maaaAADDDD!!! duncan
definitely one way of looking at it.... otoh the boat's looking good! Phaeton's new windlass gearbox arrived today, 4 months after first discussions with Quick Italy and at full price, but yesterday I found that the bow stanchion on the port side had been ripped apart from the hull (suspect someone put a mooring line round it by mistake and the weather did the damage but the cause is irrelevant). Removing the sheared bolt bit from the welded nut in the stanchion appears one of those jobs that may take 2 mins - or be a nightmare (propose drilling 2 small holes and trying to remove with circlip pliers as first option?) Ah well at least I'm thinking of using it again! Edited April 10, 2010 by duncan
