Member Removed Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 Thought I would share my day with you all and put a Bank Holiday smile on your faces! Today in Gosport I decided to swap over trailers as my Alaska 500 is sitting on a Bramber 22ft trailer and I had just got a 18ft hayling trailer to do the job! So as my Father in Law is staying with us at the moment I decided to give him a day by the sea. He is from Siberia and speaks only a few words of English but is a great drinking buddy! So we pushed the new trailer down the Gosport Angling slipway and I gave my father in law a large block of wood to put behind the wheel. I then drove the trailered boat down the other side of the slipway. Nowt funny you're thinkin? I got out and started to ease the boat off the trailer when I got a tap on my shoulder. I looked round and my father in law shrugged his shoulders and said "trailer neyetto" which roughly translated means no trailer? He had put the block of wood under the jockey wheel and a wave had washed up and the trailer was now at the bottom of the slipway in about 3m of water! 4hrs later and with the tide retreating I managed to get her back in my new neoprene chesties watched by quite a large congregating following on the beach. So if you see some idiot watching his new trailor disappearing down Gosport slipway on "You've been framed" think of me! Best bit....the new trailer doesn't fit!!!!! Anyone want to buy a new trailer described above now well hosed and washed down with one useless owner? Have a great Bank Holiday everyone! Quote
plaicemat Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 And my wife thinks I'm the only one who buys new boats without selling the old one first. Ha! Isn't it funny that the size of the crowd one attracts is commensurate to the embarrassment of the situation one is in. Terry. Quote
