Paul D
What gorgeous conditions to be out in. The river was impressively high when we launched at Wick. Saw Gordon with Fugazi on the way out but my crew was late, so had to wait for Nigel to turn up form Southampton. Off through the harbour and straight for "the spot". Only a short trip today as have to be up extra early tomorrow. Fishing was slow and only managed 5 whiting between us ( 4 to Nigel and 1 to me ), although I think we would have had more had we scaled down tackle size, but we were targeting cod. Looks like I "peaked" too early - ah well, from the radio I heard of a couple of good fish were caught and I am sure there will be more to those that stayed out through the low water. Coming back in met up with Marineboy and so glad I got to the run by 2PM otherwise there would have been no way in - it was rocketing out. Graham Nash
Fantastic conditions Paul .... we were out, anchored just down tide from Fugazi. Ended up with about 12 whiting (most of a good size) a few dogs and a half decent bass. Great day to be out and i can't wait till the next jaunt! I also heard of an 18 & 14lBer being caugt, but not on my boat i'm afraid.
