loyal royal
We managed to get out at the weekend we drove for an hour north to a place called gulf harbour and that is where we launched from and headed out to tiritiri matangi island it's about 35min's at 20knots so not far' in the fishing club that i am in we have a fish of the month and November's was john dory so that was my target fish for the day but too had been Court already so i had to catch a good one and i had a mark on my plotter that i wanted to try so we headed to it .On the way we was joined by a pod of dolphins they was amazing they was swimming through my wash you could of touched them if you try ed .We found our mark its a whole of 32 meters deep as we arrived the fish finder was going mad' balls of bait fish everywhere so we posited the boat over the whole well i tryed anyway but it was close enought the first drop fish on 2 kg snapper to ryan and then my mate jim had one a little smaller i did not even get my rod out of my bag and they had two fish but the time i got my line wet ryan had 4 fish but he loved it and he rubs my nose in it aswell but not to be out done i waited for a very little snapper to be court and them i placed it on my size 6 circle hook on a bull weight and lowed it in to the whole left it for 30 mins and bang rods starts to click so i left it bit longer gave it some line and waited by this time the other too said reel it in it's gone i said just wait 5 more minutes so we did . so i started to reel and it was heavy very heavy and with the tide aswell but it did come up and yes it was a dory i shouted grab the net pulled it to the boat netted it job done 2.75kg which won me $100 bar tab that shut the other too up aswell so all in all a good day at the office the weather was just perfect the sea was a mill pond no clouds in the sky i did burn my legs thought but in the end ryans best fish was 2.92kgs snapper which has got him on the junior leader board for the heavyest snapper so far we must of court inexess of 50 fish all good size we took just enought for a feed 5 around the 2kg mark and the rest went back the leagal size for snapper here is 27cm if i take anyone out no fish under 35cm to be kept there is no meat on them waste of time me thinks keeping fish under 35cm. sorry about the spelling mark b
