Coddy Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 Hi all I have just purchased one of these slings, have yet to use it but they look very good. It even has a measure inside so it makes getting the size easier. Check out the slings from here http://www.ukshark.co.uk/ Click on the 3rd red spot , Web page for all aspects Then scoll down to weigh slings. This site is run by Sue and Jerry Drake which some of you know for their shark tagging programe. It is also an interesting site about sharks as well Regards Coddy Quote
Afishionado Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 I have tried one of these slings and no matter how hard I whiz it round my head I still can't throw the fish very far using it. Mad Mike Quote
duncan Posted September 30, 2004 Report Posted September 30, 2004 what's wrong with a supermarket carrier bag - the bag for life things? Quote
Maverick Martin Posted September 30, 2004 Report Posted September 30, 2004 I've never tried putting a 50lb tope into a tesco's carrier bag but it sounds like fun Quote
duncan Posted September 30, 2004 Report Posted September 30, 2004 well they take a 25lb blonde but that's the limit of my testing! Also they do suffer from the 'thorns' of rays a bit too............ Quote
great white Posted September 30, 2004 Report Posted September 30, 2004 I find that using the landing net to weigh the fish supports them quite well. then just take off the weight of the net. or I use an old GPO sack which has eyelets in the end for the hook of the scales Charlie Quote
