johnnyb. Posted May 28, 2011 Report Posted May 28, 2011 I was out fishing at the end of april about a mile south of the needles.when I looked out of the boat I thought I could see the bottom all sandy and about six feet down. The sounder was saying something like 30ft so I asumed the sand was being churned up by the tide.Anyone know if this is normal, can it damage your engine, and is it worth fishing in all that slury for want of a better word??? mike02380 Posted May 28, 2011 Report Posted May 28, 2011 maybe some sort of algal bloom? I've seen patches of it before whilst out and about Quote
biggcol Posted May 28, 2011 Report Posted May 28, 2011 There is a big Algi bloom at the moment this is normal for this time of year, That's why it's called May Water. It's a beach fishing nightmare there is usually no fish in the bloom and your line gets covered in brownish slime, not nice. If it is May Water you were in I would opt to move out past it and fish clearer water. Colin Quote
johnnyb. Posted May 28, 2011 Author Report Posted May 28, 2011 (edited) My first impresion was panic as I thought it was a masive sandbank.but with the sounder saying 30ft I realised it couldnt be.but it was brownish in colour and looked just like sand 6ft down Whats this thing out there called spoilt grounds???
