Stuie
Cabin Boy has withdrawal symptoms after he had a few days holiday so we're planning an 8am start from Cobbs. May drift or go further out to anchor as not a lot of tide. If anyone else is out we'll be monitoring Ch 6 - (as well as 16, 14 and 8)
biggcol
We are hoping to get out but with only one engine we wont be going very far. Might see you out there some where Stue. Colin
Stuie
We got out at 8.30 with a calm sea. First stop was between the swash and the training bank. It soon became obvious that we wouldn't do well here as a trawler was plying its trade up and down the same area. A tub was all we could muster. Then to the sadler bank area where the lack of tide meant we were drifting. Only mackerel obliged - no interest from anything else at all on bait on or near the bottom. We went a couple of miles further out seeking tide but again were limited to drifting. We did manage a scad among the mackerel. The wind increased more than forcast so we motored gently back to Studland bay for another fruitless drift. Another great day afloat. Lessons - must plan better with tides etc - should have considered going west with such a low neep. Stuart
