Monday 25th - anyone out?

Cabin Boy has withdrawal symptoms after he had a few days holiday so we're planning an 8am start from Cobbs. May drift or go further out to anchor as not a lot of tide. If anyone else is out we'll be monitoring Ch 6 - (as well as 16, 14 and 8)

We got out at 8.30 with a calm sea. First stop was between the swash and the training bank. It soon became obvious that we wouldn't do well here as a trawler was plying its trade up and down the same area. weep.gif A tub was all we could muster. Then to the sadler bank area where the lack of tide meant we were drifting. Only mackerel obliged - no interest from anything else at all on bait on or near the bottom. We went a couple of miles further out seeking tide but again were limited to drifting. We did manage a scad among the mackerel. biggrin.gif

The wind increased more than forcast so we motored gently back to Studland bay for another fruitless drift.

Another great day afloat.

Lessons - must plan better with tides etc - should have considered going west with such a low neep.
