    Slate

Some of you may know that I recently got a cheap Laser engraver. Well it's taken a while to get it set up and running as I want it but it's done. I tried some old slate the other day and I was pleased with the results. So. I'm on the scrounge. Do you have any old slate that I can have please. Anything bigger than about 3" or 75mm square will be great. Happy to collect or you could bring to a meeting if easier. Thanks in advance. 👍
  2. I've Never had one. Used to see loads when on a charter trip putting back the sand eels we didn't want after netting on hook sands. Seems like 100 years ago 😪 We used to be able to "stop off for 10 mins" for Mackerel as well. Now you could spend all day and not get one. 😒
  3. That smile says it all. 👍
  4. We used to have a "Trail away" section in the club.
  5. Welcome to the club Derek. 👍
  6. A great day out then Colin & Bobi. Lovely Turbot. Thanks for posting. 👍
  7. "gracefully" ???? Nah ! 😉
  8. Fantastic Jerry. They'll remember this for the rest of their lives.
  9. Indeed it was Charlie. A bit lumpy out there & not many fish but yes. A lovely day with couple of great blokes.
  10. Another Day out on Madness. Left Cobb's for the 08:30 bridge. It was a pleasant morning with a gentle breeze & hazy sunshine. The harbour was quite calm and we made our way to the chain ferry. Once outside it was a different story. It was quite breezy & lumpy. We decided that Ballard would be a good choice so off we went at a gentle pace. We lined up for anchor and found there was a problem with the windlass ( Martin will explain ). We had a go at drifting and I "winkled" out a Pollack. It's too rocky at Ballard for drifting so a change of plan was needed. We headed for the beaches at B/mouth to drift for flatties. On the way Martin sorted the anchor so we then headed for the patch. Anchored on a nice spot but there were only a couple of boats out there (both charters) so we guessed that it had been overfished and not producing much. We were right! Martin had one and put it back. Martin and Phil had a couple of doggies. We all hooked a couple and lost them. I had a Bream as well. Then we moved and had nothing but a wrasse to me and a better Bream to Martin. We decided that the Harbour would be better but just caught Weed. Last few minutes by the Ro Ro and I had another Bream. Back in at 3:30 lift. Thanks Martin & Phil for another great day out. Not many fish but so good to get out. Thank you.

    Jerry's Fish

Jerry asked me to post this. I expect he'll join in with an explanation at some point. Jerry Fish.mp4
  12. I bought some parts for my Grand Daughter's car as she's at college and short of cash. She's working it off to repay me so cleaning Jackie's and my car is one way of doing that. 😉 Better than paying the hand car wash people.
  13. Lovely weather for cleaning boats. . . . . But I still hate it. I hate cleaning Cars & Motorbikes too. In fact . . . . . I hate cleaning.

    old fuel?

If it's a removable fuel tank I found that tipping it upside down on a workmate bench and leaving a while allowed the water to settle at the bottom then I could release the breather in the cap to let the water out. Never had a problem after that. Did have loads of water in the fuel off the old fuel barge one time though. 😒
  15. Cheeky B%$£&*ds Thanks Admin. 👍
