The Rips

Hi Folks,

Looking to get the first proper trip of the summer under way on Friday with a couple of mates and was thinking about starting over dancing ledge for some Bream and then heading South over slack and trying a few wrecks on the flood tide.

Looking at the chart the area of rips south of Poole looks quite interesting, has anyone fished this area? Is this the area that's know as the brittle stars? The weather looks OK at the moment so hopefully it won't be too lumpy.

There are a few wrecks in and around the vacinity which I thought I would also give a go while i'm there.

Anyone else out on Friday?

Andrew

Hi Andrew

Certainly a well known area to many of us

It should be holding fish by now and is close enough to the Brittle stars to give both a go.

some of the steepest pinicles fish well on the drift for Cod and Pollack

The wrecks are worth a go at anchor over slack for some good eels. and a few tope get around the area.

Its a fair way out so I usually go there all day to make the most of drifting and anchoring, but should be good on that forecast.

Slack water at about 0900. and 1500 ish

Sounds a great prospect wish I could join you.

Tight lines

Thanks for the info Charlie, just re-checked my tides and changed plan, straight for the Rips and some wrecks as you suggested. For some reason I had slack water about 1pm, doh!

Cheers,

Andrew
