Decided to take advantage of the weather window yesterday, wanted to get out from Mudeford but due to tide times and heights i did'nt fancy chancing the bar at Mudeford entrance so opted to fish poole harbour for my first ever flounder

Tried drifting with some bucktail jigs i got from USA but no luck, so anchored up near Aunt bessy Bouy, slow to start with loads of crabs on rag worm then had few bites but missed them then i finally got a nice fat plump one of 2lb2oz smile.gif

That was it after that as time was getting on had to get back on slip before it got too low, lovely day, Flat calm and very mild.

Me and Bri were in the harbour till midnight on Thursday. Tried for flounders but no luck. Lots of whiting by the hamish buoy and a schoolie for Bri. Conditions were fabulous

Well done on finding the flounder through the crabs.

I fished the hamworthy and Wessex beach comp on Friday night in all that rain at holes bay, not many flounders caught amongst the 20 people fishing, two flounders with a total weight of 5lb 2oz won the event and I came second with the biggest flounder of 3lb 9oz using rag worm. I have a nice picture of it full of eggs that I did return, can't upload pics on here as I'm not clever enough but if I can email someone that can put it on for me will be gratefull
