Newboy
Do you tie them together, using bemini or loops or whatever, or do you use a swivel?
Adam F
The question is a little too general Kam. Do you mean main line to leader or main line to the hook length? If to the leader then either the SIG or the Albright knot are the best. If the main line to the hook length, as you would when tying a running ledger for example, then I use a swivel and attach using a grinner. Hope this helps
Newboy
The way I do it is generally: main line (tie to)-mono (with boom)-swivel with clip-trace/rig (for quick changing). I did a search on sea rigs and one of the website showed pictures/drawings of using swivels all the way thru, bit like the portland rig. duncan
I have to say I hadn't considered bimini loops - as in loop to loop - and may well use this going forwards. I have in the past tied bimini's in my braid then threaded the whole thing through the boom, a drilled out bead (made a batch up) and looped twice through the swivel of a gemini swivel link. Making up some lengths of mono with bimini's in either end gives me the extra option of including one for the boom to run on or not as I feel appropriate. Funny what trigers these thougths isn't it. Newboy
I can get them anytime, but as I explained before prices are high now. Run up to christmas makes trade prices close to retail (what we pay at fishmongers). Lobsters have gone close to
