lofty
The Anglers Afloat Classic kayak fishing competition is being held on the 18th of May in Swanage bay. I've been asked by the organisers if its possible for either one or two PBSBAC boats to volunteer to be support boats on the day. This would involve being on the water at Swanage between 10 and 3.30. There will be approximately 75 kayaks on the water. You would be called upon to assist if any Yakkers get in trouble but it is also a fun day and the chance to get a few bream too.All kayakers are insured with public liability insurance. A fairly quick boat would be good as it would need to cover Swanage bay The event is fundraising for the RNLI If anyone can assist please let me know as soon as possible so I can let the organisers know. lofty
Just to clarify. The boats would be on hand for support. Should any accidents occur then of course the RNLI would be used. The type of support that might be needed would be perhaps a tow if someone loses a paddle, that sort of thing. Any members boats willing to help out on the day? lofty
Fuel expenses could be paid too. A local company has priced to do this but it will come out of the RNLI fundraising pot. It would be a shame to have to do this .
