Ben Posted October 26, 2013 Report Posted October 26, 2013 Morning all Had a thought yesterday about the coverage on my insurance for my tub , called to find out if my boat was covered against a tree falling on it etc ..... I am covered thank funk but only because I am on the platinum level of cover other levels were not covered ! ! It may be worth a quick call to your insurance co today if you are unsure what they are covering before these winds hit .... Ben Kingfisher 126 1 Quote
Kingfisher 126 Posted October 26, 2013 Report Posted October 26, 2013 Hi Ben A good call, hopefully a tree shouldnt land on mine! But I,m just on my way to put a couple of extra fenders and ropes on just in case. Ben 1 Quote

Maverick Martin Posted October 26, 2013 Report Posted October 26, 2013 If a tree fell on your boat at home wouldn't your house/liability insurance cover the boat? Quote

Mike Fox Posted October 26, 2013 Report Posted October 26, 2013 Have just doubled up mooring lines on Frisky, taken steps to remove items contributing to windage, and lashed down anything that could flap, etc. Not much more that can be done I guess. Hope it's not as bad as forecast, and i'm glad I'm not on a swinging mooring!Mike Paul J and Rob 2 Quote

Steve S Posted October 26, 2013 Report Posted October 26, 2013 I'm on a swinging mooring , thankfully not the most exposed part of the Beaulieu river. I'll be going down tomorrow to add a secondary strop using some 6mm chain. Can't do much about below the buoy but they are replaced regularly the HM told me. Hope I don't get biffed by an escapees... At least it is coming on a neap, so no tidal surge risk. Steve Quote
great white Posted October 26, 2013 Report Posted October 26, 2013 Taken mine off the swinging mooring and put her alongside in the Yacht Haven with a few extra lines as well Hopefully the forecasters are just being very cautious, and the winda are not that bad. As Stave said good job it is a neap tide Quote
