We happened to be in Swanage Angling at 4.50pm. this afternoon. We had seen and heard emergency vehicles going up the track behind the Pier to Peverill Point.

Don't know the whole story, but we were told that a couple of people had been Coasteering, and that one had been got out of the water and another was trapped.

,Not a nice situation in any weather, but with winds at Force 9 and 10ft. plus waves, light fading and the tide rising things were getting worse.Heard that two Lifeboats were called out and that a Helicopter was on the way. Hope everyone involved was OK, makes you think.

Call me insensitive but what the hell were they thinking to do those sort of things in that weather!

If was an organised event I hope they get named and shamed.

Shame they had to put others at risk to rescue them

Very often the higher the risk the better the experience. I went to slovenia a few years ago to do white water rafting, canyoning and hydrospeeding. The first few days the weather was calm and it was pretty tame, following a good downpour the rivers swelled and the action was much better. No one thinks we are going to need rescuing, we all think we are superman :-)
