Bob F
Adam and I are planning to chuck a few rods from the beach at Abbotsbury on Friday evening. If anyone else wants to join in you're are welcome. Prize for the smallest pout [cus I usually win that!]. Weather permitting of course. Not going if it's peeing down. If the trip is on, I'd love to venture out with u guys, what are the baits required?? Rich........and I expect I would blank!!!!!!! <ggg>
Bob F
Rich, both will be ok on the chesil during an evening session because the fish come closer in. I've caught my biggest fish just 10-20 yds out, which even you should be capable of reaching. Rag, lug (if you can get it) and squid is what you need. Be prepared for a bit of a hike across the peebles, so don't overload yourself. Tip lights for your rods are very useful. I've got a spare rod stand if you need one. At night I prefer using big fixed spool reels rather than multipliers, but its up to you. cheers BF
Swainiac
Bob, I have a rod stand, beach buddy and all that caper, tip lights, fixed spools and small multipliers, so if that is all that is reqd...I could well be interested!! see you tonight Rich
Adam F
If the weather is too windy for chesil, anything over a 4 SW, I will probably have a bash either off Southborne, or more likey Evening Hill, tides depending.
alun j.
Hey Bob, Is this fishing deprived madness?? Chesil in a SW storm .....at night?? Have you seen those 'mini-tsunami' surges that move the pebbles from under your feet?? Put a big stake into the shingle, well up the beach ........ and tie yourself to it with some rope!! and hang on as you get tossed about !! I'd be surprised if any fishing would be possible ....... but good luck !! I'm going to be adventurous and try to dig some worms on Sat. afternoon. Cheers, Alun. Swainiac
I believe we've given this one a rain check!! On the subject of worms, how deep are they at present?? Regards, Rich
Deep Sea Dean
Apparantly digging worms at the moment is a bit of a mare. They are spawning at the mo making them hard to dig as they fall apart on first contact leaving a nice green gooey mess. most people i have talked to even dragging on a boat are finding it a bit difficult. Bob F
Even I'm not daft enough to go out today Alun. Yes, we're giving it a rain check. BF
