Manic Moore Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Member desperate to get my line pulled. Evan doggies would be greatfully recieved. If anyone is going out on Thursday and needs a hand and share costs, I'll even bring the sandwiches and tea. If not perhaps some one could give some advice on where to take the boat, not too far out. Just give me a call. The tide and weather looks ok (to me anyway!) Regards Manic Gordon Quote
great white Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Gordon I have just seen the weather and there does appear to be a high filling on Thursday. Wish I could get out at a sensible time but work will prevent that. The spoil grounds off of old Harry would be worth a try after a good stir up. They are shown on the charts and you do not really have to be very specific. They can hold Cod Dogs Whiting and pout plus the odd Ray so not a bad starting point. Very tight lines Charlie Quote
Swainiac Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 Charlie, do the fish move closer in after a good blow off Old Harry?? Last time i fished after a bout of wind, I took a few blondes, and was fairly close in. Rich...................ps....it wasnt me with wind, before the comments start!!! (Although it has been known!) great white Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 Hi Rich, A lot of the Cod caught on the 30th were from the closer marks and after a good stir up the fish will come in after the shellfish. Last week the sprats were in very close and the fish will be in after then as well. I was also trying to aim Gordon at an easy area to find. where I am told you just need to be in the general area rather than an exact waypoint. The spoil fits that well and holds good fish, wish I could join him Charlie Quote
